Efecto del uso pedagógico de ChatGPT en la adquisición de vocabulario en estudiantes de 10.º de básica: un estudio mixto con medidas repetidas

Se evaluó el efecto del uso pedagógico de ChatGPT en la adquisición de vocabulario receptivo en estudiantes de décimo año de Educación General Básica de una institución rural ecuatoriana. Se aplicó un diseño cuasi experimental de grupos no equivalentes, con pretest y postest, en una muestra de 15 estudiantes: siete en el grupo experimental y ocho en el grupo de control. El grupo experimental trabajó durante una semana con actividades guiadas mediante ChatGPT, orientadas al reconocimiento de significados, uso contextualizado de palabras, sinónimos, antónimos y producción breve; el grupo de control continuó con enseñanza habitual. Los resultados mostraron incrementos leves en ambos grupos. El grupo experimental pasó de una media de 21,00 a 21,43 puntos, mientras que el grupo de control pasó de 20,88 a 22,00 puntos. Las pruebas de Wilcoxon y U de Mann-Whitney no evidenciaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas ni dentro de los grupos ni entre ellos. Se concluye que, en esta aplicación breve y contextualizada, ChatGPT no produjo una mejora diferencial significativa frente a la enseñanza habitual, aunque tampoco se observaron retrocesos en el grupo experimental.
